It's All Pilsen, All the Time on New Portal

Neighborhood organizations, individuals, artists and business owners are working together to create this window into our community. You can help by joining the portal community and submitting information, from calendar items to videos.

The Pilsen Planning Committee created the portal as one step among many that will make our neighborhood a "Digital Excellence" community, meaning that we use the web and other digital tools to support our families, businesses and institutions — to build a stronger community.

The portal is a work in progress, but we envision it as a place where residents and others can learn about the neighborhood, plug into local resources and share the Pilsen experience.

Click around and you'll see that there's a place on the portal for videos, photos, stories, news releases, event announcements and business listings. We're experimenting with an advertising program (contact Jaime Guzman for more information) and hope some residents will become fans of our Facebook page.

We're still working on adding more photos and more stories. But we need your help. This is a community portal—in what it covers, in who it's designed for, and most of all in who posts information.

Let Pilsen know the date and time of your next event. Add your business or community organization to our directory. Share photos or video of great events, residents and local institutions. Tell everyone about interesting news, important information, or story about life in Pilsen.
