Virtual Tour Shows Off Pilsen

Want to give someone a great idea of what Pilsen is all about in less than 8 minutes? With so much going on the community, that seems impossible, but a new video "The Sights and Sounds of Pilsen" gets as close as you can imagine.
Created by the Chicago Community Showcase, a program of LISC/Chicago that helps highlight diverse cultural and commercial attractions in Chicago neighborhoods, the video touches on everything from the history and messages of local murals to the treats at Nuevo Leon Bakery and the Nuevo Leon Restaurant.
The video tour was inspired by a community tour created through the Community Showcase program in 2009 with Alex Morales at The Resurrection Project. The video includes Morales' perspective on Pilsen, as well as insight from local artists Roberto Ferreyra, Monserrat Alsina and Hector Duarte and New Communities Program Director Alvaro Obregon.
