Gads Hill Center’s Child Development Center celebrates the transition of 77 children from its programs into kindergarten
Chicago, IL - On Friday, June 18, 2010, teachers and staff of Gads Hill Child Development Center (CDC), located on Chicago’s west side, celebrated a grand milestone for 77 community families. With over 200 parents and other family members watching, more than 77 children in the organization’s Head Start programs transitioned to kindergarten. During the event, performances were conducted by each classroom and a presentation of certificates was made to each child. In September, these children will experience a new chapter in their young lives when they begin their enrollment in a variety of magnet, charter and neighborhood schools. Barbara Castellan, Chief Executive Officer noted that “their future success will be supported by this high quality Head Start experience they participated in at Gads Hill Center.”
