MGMC Flyer Distribution / Media Coverage

MCMG is continuously working to find someone with information regarding the car or person(s) involved in the hit-and-run death of Martha Gonzalez.  The incident happened on October 13, 2009 at 5:05 pm at the intersection of 18th and Halsted.  Additionally, MGMC is committed to making 18th and Halsted a safer intersection.

On Satuday, May 15, 2010, the Chicago Police Department has agreed to help MCMG pass out flyers in search of a witness or information about the incident.  Also, members of the community and volunteers will fill out a quick survey, known as a "Walkability Assessment", to describe problems they see at the intersection.

Chicago area news media have been invited to take footage of the event.

If you would like to volunteer to either pass out flyers or participate in the Walkabilty Assessment, please email Antonia Lopez at lopezax@yahoo.com or show up at Kristoffer's Cafe (1733 S. Halsted)  between 11:00am and 1:00pm on Saturday May 15, 2010.

Full Schedule:

11:00am - 12:00pm Volunteers arrive at Kristoffer's Cafe

12:00pm - 1:00pm CLOCC Walkability Assessment

1:00pm - 2:00pm Honorary Street Designation Petition
