Friends of El Hogar
Denise Castillo Dell Isola, the new Executive Director at El Hogar Del Nino hosted this year’s first fundraiser event, “Friends of El Hogar”, on January 28, 2010. This was also Dell Isola’s first fundraiser as the Executive Director for El Hogar Del Nino.
The agency is a non-for-profit organization which focuses on providing quality comprehensive bilingual/bicultural early childhood development programs for infants, preschool, school-age children and their families. El Hogar Del Nino relies on the community’s support to continue offering these programs. In order to achieve this, fundraiser’s are put together to raise money. During the “Friends of El Hogar” event at 1710 S. Loomis St. Dell Isola gave a tour of the center and classrooms to donors and potential donors so, that they may see for themselves the progress and the work El Hogar Del Nino provides for the community.
After the tour, Del Isola and the donors walked over to a local café for quesadilla’s and white wine. There, Dell Isola expressed that El Hogar Del Nino needs continued support, so that the agency is able to improve the programs and services they offer to children and families of the Pilsen neighborhood. The event helped raise nearly 3,000 dollars. The donations will go towards the early childhood programs at El Hogar Del Nino.
