Church should be a place where you feel free to worship God. Church should be a place where the word of God is preached and is relevant to what is going on in the world today. Church should be a place where people can use their gifts and talents for the Kingdom of God. Church should be a place where it doesn't matter the color of skin. Pastor Robert Belfort felt the calling to start such a church and New Life Covenant Pilsen was born.
We are a new multi-cultural church plant in the city of Chicago. We first started as a small group meeting and planning what a church like that would look like. Pastor and his small group met for months planning and praying for this new church plant. The church was planted on the corner of Racine and Taylor in the Boys and Girls Club.
After some time the Boys And Girls Club was shut down and we were given a two-week notice to find another place to have our services. We prayed and God opened up a door on the corner of 19th and Allport. This building was severely run down and had to be remodeled. The members of the church all pitched in and fixed up the building.
The church soon outgrew this small building and was waiting on the LORD to open up another door. God was faithful and opened a door not to rent another building but to purchase their own building. February 2005 we purchased our building at 2512 S. Oakley Chicago, IL 60608.
It has not been easy since purchasing our building, the devil has thrown many obstacles our way but the Bible says "no weapon formed against us shall prosper". We have a heart for Pilsen and the city of Chicago. We have done many outreaches to meet the needs of our city. Our church also has a big heart for foreign missions. God has opened the door for us to travel to other countries to preach the gospel.
