Welcome to the Pilsen Portal
Pilsen neighborhood organizations, residents, artists, and business owners are working together to create this window into our community.
The portal is a work in progress, but we envision it as a place where residents and others can learn about the neighborhood, plug into local resources and share the Pilsen experience.
The Pilsen Planning Committee created the portal as one step among many that will make our neighborhood a "Digital Excellence" community, meaning that we use the web and other digital tools to support our families, businesses and institutions — to build a stronger community.
The idea for a portal was born in 2006 when the Pilsen Planning Committee was creating its Quality-of-Life Plan, and the organizations that endorsed that plan are initial contributors to the Pilsen Portal:
- Alivio Medical Center
- Eighteenth Street Development Corporation
- El Valor
- GadsHill Center
- Instituto del Progreso Latino
- Mujeres Latinas en Acción
- Pilsen Neighbors Community Council
- Pilsen Wellness Center (formerly Pilsen Little Village Community Mental Health Center)
- Pilsen Together Chamber of Commerce
- Pros Arts Studio
- Rauner Family YMCA
- Office of Ald. Daniel S. Solis (25th Ward)
- Spanish Coalition for Housing
- The Resurrection Project www.resurrectionproject.org
- Arturo Velasquez Technical Institute (formerly West Side Technical Institute)
Please join us! We welcome news, events, directory listings—anything that lets all of us in Pilsen know more about our community and our neighbors.
