New Features on the Portal
We're excited to announce a new set of improvements to the Pilsen Portal, making the site more useful than ever before. Since launching in July, the Portal has been steadily growing in the number of contributors and the number of users. We hope these changes help make the Portal an even better place to tell your story and to learn about what's going on around our community.

With a cleaner look, the Portal's home page still has the list of new news from the community, the next few events that are occurring in Pilsen and featured Directory listings. On the right column, you can sign up for the latest News Feed or the latest Event Feed so you'll never to miss what's happening in Pilsen. Don't forget to scroll down to the bar at the bottom for the latest videos and photo sets and a spot to friend us on Facebook.
Around Pilsen
The right column of the Home page now also includes "What others are saying," with regular updates from other local Pilsen websites. The first feed is from the always-interesting Art Pilsen. We're excited about providing this connection to the vibrant life of the community, and we're looking for more sites that cover food, housing, nightlife, community safety, education--everything that makes Pilsen great. Please suggest other good sites to add!
A Better Directory
Visit the main page of the Directory section and you'll see the latest listings. Choose a category on the left and you can see all the local institutions we have for each group, with the location of each on a Pilsen map. When you add your store, church, school, community organization, or other Pilsen group to our directory, a map is automatically created for your listing too.
My Pilsen Bio
Watch short videos about local residents in the My Pilsen Bio section of the Community page. The first series highlights some of Pilsen's most interesting, more accomplish artists. Let us know who else we should be interviewing!

The Pilsen Portal works because it is news from the community. Add your business or nonprofit to our directory so more people know what you do. Tell Pilsen about your upcoming event. Give us your opinion about an important local issue, or let everyone know about what's been going on in Pilsen.
It's easier than ever to add your voice to the Pilsen Portal. It could not be simpler to send in your information on News, an Event, or a Directory listing for us to post. Better yet, join the community of members on the Pilsen Portal by clicking on the Join Now button. As a member, you can add photos, video or attachments to your story and you'll get updates about what's going on with the Portal.
